Mongolia Population

As of November 2022, the population of Mongolia is 3.4 million (based on world meters) and ranks 136th in the world. Ranked 18^th biggest country by area, it is the least densely populated country in the world with 2 people per square kilometer / 5 people per mile square. 31.5 % are younger than 14 years, 64.4% are between 15-64 years, and 4.1% of population is older than 65 years. And this is a young and growing country, where 49% of men and 51% of women are perfectly balanced.

    The median age in Mongolia is 28 years. And life expectancy for Mongolians is 65 years for men and 70 for women. The average age of marriage is 27.7 years. As of November 2022 there are 900,000 families and an average of 3.7 people per family.

   Despite the fact that Tibetan Buddhism is the main religion, it makes up only 55% of the total population. 34% are religiously unaffiliated, 3.5% follow traditional religions, 3.2% follow Islam and 2.3% follow Christianity.

    82% of the populations are native-born Khalkh, 4% Kazakhs, 2.8% Durvuds, and the remaining 11.2% are representatives of other nationalities and foreigners.

  More than 3.7% live abroad to study and work. 98% of the population over the age of 14 can read and write. 64% regularly use the Internet.

     On average, 227 people are born per day and 57 die. 68% of the population lives in cities and mostly lives in the capital Ulaanbaatar. The unemployed is about 9.9%. The main language is Mongolian and the second language is English.
