Tour will start on your arrival in Mongolia. We will pick you up at the airport in Mongolia’s capital city and drop you off to your hotel. For the evening there will be “welcome dinner” at the restaurant.

Take a domestic flight to the western Mongolia, where you will be welcomed by your local support team. The Bayan-Olgii province is well known as home for nomadic eagle hunters and it’s stunning Altai Mountains. There will be support vehicle – Russian Van.

Everyday we will ride a bike for 4-5 hours and rest in ger camp.

Tour includes everything you’ll need for a camping trip or a barbecue. Our knowledgeable tour guides are the basis for Mongolia Biking Tour. We will camp in a beautiful location every day. You may always go on a walk around the area at night.

Also, the cycling holiday has included to visiting nomadic family where you can experience their ancient cultures. The main destination is the south end of the Altai Tavan Bogd Park. Expect a lot of hard-packed dirt tracks or trails strewn with rocks during this cycling trip. Although there isn’t much traffic, you should be on the lookout for boulders, potholes, and track divots. There are several river passages to consider, so anticipate getting your feet wet!

This is a good choice for the leisure cyclist who rides regularly and is comfortable with some moderately difficult ascents. Terrain may vary, possibly including sections of uneven or unpaved ground.

For individuals who are in good shape and like to go cycling during the weekend, these excursions are ideal. You might enjoy riding on flatter terrain, but you’re not fussy about tackling some hills, steep climbs, or changing surfaces (forest tracks, dirt roads etc.).

DAY 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar

Welcome to Central Mongolia! The land of endless steppe! On your arrival in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolian capital city, our team will welcome you at the airport. You will be transferred to your hotel. Take your time! In the evening, depending on the amount of time we have, we can walk in the city or if you want to pay a quick visit to Natural History Museum with its dinosaur skeletons, we can do it. In the evening, we’ll have a welcoming dinner at a restaurant, and we can talk about what lies ahead over the next few days.

DAY 2: Flight to Olgii

Today you will take a domestic flight to western Mongolia. Our first stop is the land of gorgeous Altai Mountains (3000 m above sea level) and home for nomad family of eagle hunters. At the local airport, you will be welcomed by your local support team! Drive to small town Sagsai and stay at nomad family of eagle hunters with ger camps. You are welcome to take photos! The team is excited to get started and will ensure that all the baggage is packed and ready for the journey ahead!

DAY 3: Kharatas Bridge

After having breakfast we have short drive for around 3 hours on some paved roads and arrive at Kharatas Bridge where we will start our cycling holiday ! The team will go ahead and get the camping ready! Every day we will ride for around 4-5 hours through the vast areas of Mongolia. After biking we will make it to the camping place where the hot tea and delicious meal will be waiting for us. Take a rest in a tent!

DAY4: Sirgaly

Today we will head to the Sirgaly region, The south part of the National Park well known as the twin lakes Khoton and Khurgan. There will be rough roads going up and down with small rocks. In some parts, there will be mud and small several river crossings . Don’t worry, we will have a support vehicle with us at all times and, if necessary, we can switch to the car. However, the natural surroundings are so beautiful that you’re going to love it here! We’ll arrive in Sirgaly and then hike a bit in the evening to take in the stunning Waterfall Baga Turgen.

DAY 5: Aral Tobe

Our today’s trail will be by Lake Khoton. It is a gorgeous place for Mongolia cycling ! On the way, we will pass a lot of nomadic herders with their ger camps . Feel free to talk to the nomadic herders and take a photo.

DAY 6: Biluu Hill

And today we will go around the lake and ride to the another side of the lake! We will head to Biluu hill. It is a gorgeous hill once you climb on top you will have a breathtaking view of the surroundings. Also, there is an ancient petroglyph ( burial mounds ) that belongs to Bronze Age. Fishing and swimming are allowed! Enjoy!

DAY 7: Tsagaan Gol

OK, So for today we will drive to the other side of the National Park. It takes about 6-7 hours. Our team decided to show all the beauty of our region once you came from so far. And this is your must-see place in western Mongolia. We won’t bike further, but we offer you horseback trekking. It is another best way to experience real central Mongolia adventure. For today we will camp at the Tsagaan Gol. The valley with the stunning white river!

DAY 8: Base camp

Horseback trekking to Base camp! The local horse is well trained and we will make our best to make it safe and enjoyable. But, if you prefer to hike, that is fine just let us know. The trekking takes around six hours. Enjoy the panoramic view of the Altai Tavan Bogd Mountains. And enjoy the picnic lunch and stay in ger camp

DAY 9: Oigor-Olgii

Trekking to Oigor valley. It is the north entrance of the NP. Once we arrive at the Oigor, we will drive further to Olgii. You will be transferred to a centrally located hotel. There will be farewell dinner with the whole team!

DAY 10: Ulaanbaatar

Fly back to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolian capital city. Our city guide will pick you up and guide you to the National Park Gorkhi-Terelj. Visit the world’s biggest horse Monument in central Mongolia. The Genghis Khan Statue Complex. Also, visit the gorgeous Stone Turtle at the park. Drive back to Ulaanbaatar.

DAY 11: End trip!

During the trip you will be supported by local experienced guides. The team is consists of English speaking tour guide, experienced driver and expedition cook. Also, you have an opportunity to explore nomadic families and their way of living. Our Discover Altai team has representatives in all over the Mongolia. Backpack, head light, warm clothes, hat and gloves, waterproof jacket and pants, towel, personal medicine, cream, power bank, solar charger.

During the summer time the weather is usually warm and comfortable. But, we recommend you pack extra clothes to be ready for all types of conditions.

We are equipped with sleeping bags and mattresses. During the tour you will stay in tents, tourist camps, ger camp and with the local families

During the trip we will be out of the phone signal and electricity. Please let your family to know about it, just to be sure they won’t be worried. We will have signal in the cities and province centre.
